OSHEAN Inc. today announced a multi-faceted strategic partnership with Cloudflare. This new partnership will see OSHEAN using Cloudflare’s platform for Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) mitigation for all of its Member network connections. Secondly, the partnership enables OSHEAN to offer Cloudflare portfolio products to its Membership
OSHEAN automates its DDoS protection architecture for its membership. The first component is an analytics function that detects the attack vectors using signature recognition. The system then routes the affected traffic to Cloudflare’s volumetric scrubbing center through a peering fabric with OSHEAN. OSHEAN then routes the clean data back to the OSHEAN member site. All of this happens without any intervention needed by the Member. The architecture is operational today.
“Our member environments need sophisticated defenses against these persistent threats. The more we can automate and defend against volumetric attacks on behalf of the entire membership, the better,” said David Marble, CEO of OSHEAN.
The second piece of the partnership deals with making Cloudflare’s portfolio available to its membership. Tim Wells, Director of Strategic Programs, said, “We continue to build our strategic portfolio for our members. We work to deepen our support in Network, Cloud, and Cybersecurity with partners who lead the industries they serve and provide value through integration with our network and discounted pricing for our community.”
OSHEAN is celebrating its 25th anniversary and makes this announcement in conjunction with its annual Member Forum. The Forum highlighted OSHEAN’s key initiatives in advanced networking, Cybersecurity, and Cloud access with a glimpse into the future, particularly the impact of Artificial Intelligence.
